Never Lose Power Again: How We Upgraded a Customer’s System with a Deye SE-F5 Plus 5.12kWh Lithium Battery and LuxPower Inverter 5Kw

Power cuts disrupt homes, lodges and businesses. Lights go off, appliances stop and important work is interrupted. That is why Sanson Energy Limited recently completed a system upgrade for a customer, installing a Deye SE-F5 Plus 5.12kWh lithium battery together with a LuxPower inverter, protected by a dedicated circuit breaker.

This post explains what we installed, how the system works and what it means for the customer.

What the Customer Needed

The customer wanted a dependable source of backup power, so that important loads would keep running during an electricity outage without anyone having to switch anything on manually.

The Solution We Installed

We designed an upgrade around three main components:

  • Deye SE-F5 Plus 5.12kWh lithium battery to store energy for use when the grid is unavailable.
  • LuxPower inverter to manage charging, power conversion and the changeover between grid and battery power.
  • Circuit breaker to protect the system and the connected wiring.

How the System Works

When grid electricity is available: The battery is charged from the grid while the property continues to run normally.

When there is no electricity: The system covers the outage. The stored battery energy powers the connected loads through the inverter, so lights, appliances and equipment stay on.

The system can also be extended with solar panels, which would let the battery charge from the sun and reduce reliance on the grid.

What Sanson Energy Did on This Project

  • Assessed the customer’s energy needs and the loads to be backed up.
  • Selected a suitable battery capacity and a compatible inverter.
  • Designed the system layout and the protection arrangement.
  • Supplied the battery, inverter and circuit breaker.
  • Installed and wired the system.
  • Configured and commissioned the inverter and battery.
  • Tested grid charging and the changeover to battery power.
  • Handed the system over to the customer and explained how it operates.

Benefits for the Customer

  • Backup power during electricity outages.
  • Automatic changeover to battery power, with no manual switching.
  • A quiet, fuel-free backup source compared with a generator.
  • Protected wiring through a properly rated circuit breaker.
  • Room to grow, since solar can be added later.

What is the Deye SE-F5 Plus battery?

It is a lithium battery with 5.12kWh of capacity, used here as the energy storage for a home or business backup system.

What does the LuxPower inverter do?

The inverter manages how the battery is charged and discharged and supplies power to the connected loads during an outage.

What happens during a power cut?

The system switches to the battery, which keeps the connected loads running until the battery capacity is used or the grid returns. Backup time depends on how much load is connected.

Why is a circuit breaker needed?

It protects the wiring and equipment from overload and faults, which makes the installation safer.

Can I add solar panels later?

The system can be extended with solar, subject to the inverter’s supported inputs and a proper system design. Ask our team to confirm for your setup.
