Sanson Energy Limited successfully completed a solar power system upgrade at ZITA Tanzanian Wild Camp in Ngorongoro, Tanzania.

The project was designed to improve the camp’s energy storage and solar generation while making maximum use of the existing solar infrastructure.

Instead of replacing the complete system, Sanson Energy assessed the existing installation and developed an upgrade solution that integrated new lithium-ion battery storage and additional solar PV capacity with the existing Victron inverter system.

Existing System

The camp had an existing solar power system supported by:

• 8 × AGM batteries
• 170Ah, 12V each
• Existing Victron inverter system

As the camp’s energy requirements increased, the existing battery storage and solar generation needed to be improved.

Our Solar System Upgrade

Sanson Energy implemented the following upgrades:

• 2 × Freedom Won eTower Lithium-Ion Batteries
  5.12 kWh each

• 4 × Jinko 625W Solar Panels
  2.5 kWp additional solar capacity

For remote visibility of system performance

Engineering & System Integration

The upgrade was designed around the existing installation to improve the system without unnecessary replacement of usable equipment.

The new battery storage and additional solar PV capacity were integrated into the existing system to increase energy availability and improve the overall performance of the installation.

This approach allowed the client to maximize the value of their existing investment while improving the system to meet current energy requirements.
